    Re: 77mm Protection/UV filters?

You find like many things in life you tend to get what you pay for. I am quite happy to use brands such as B&W, Heliopan, Rodenstock and I even have a couple of Nikons, who actually make some really nice glass. Canon do some protect filters as well. I tend to find the biggest difference is the quality of the parts and fittings, so a nice solid brass ring will not stick or bind like some of the cheaper materials, also the better filters are far easier to clean. Some of the better quality Hoya are not too bad, but when I have had them I have tended to replace with others over time.

I have Canon protectors on my "L" lenses. I find them OK without any noticeable affect on IQ
try 7dayshop.com that's where I got mine from and they were a good price

John, Phil thanks for your comments I will have a look around for the makes suggested, In the interim I have taken my B+W off the Sigma 10-20 to use it on the 70-200 2.8 L IS.

BTW John what do you use to clean your filters with?
