    Lightweight Tripod

HI folks, I'm looking for some advice on lightweight tripods, I have the Manfrotto 055 pro B which is an excellent bit of kit, but I feel it is getting too heavy to lug about all day.

I rarely use a tripod at full height, normally it is used low to the ground. I have considered the Manfrotto 190 or the Benbo compact or mini trekker, anybody have opinions on these models.

    Re: Lightweight Tripod

Hi Rob, I just bought myself one of these this morning : Giottos Vitruvian VGR9255 Tripod with MH5310-630 Ball Head - Only £165.00 - SRS Microsystems

Folds up small and is quite light, they do a carbon fibre model as well but the price difference was a little much for me as the aluminium one is light enough already for my needs.

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to use it yet though but it seems solid enough.

    Re: Lightweight Tripod

Thanks Simon, it looks pretty good, nice and compact an nearly a kilo lighter than my Manfrotto, I'll check this out.

Nigel I like the look of the 190pro CX4 but it is a bit expensive, I already have the 460MG head.

It is expensive Rob - I was fortunate enough to find a good deal on one. I saw a used one for sale on another forum which gave a decent reduction as well.
