welding glass experiment

    welding glass experiment

    Thought I would have a go at using 10 stop welding glass .......... not a brilliant shot I know, but shows what sort of effects you can get ............. will keep experimenting, watch this space. This was shot straight at the sun

    effect is good but think it needs a more minimalist scene to work best.

    Yes indeed ................ just getting to grips with it ...... difficult to focus when the view through the view finder is black !!!! Just need to find a view now

    Hi MO,

    Try focusing before you put the welding glass in front of the lens - should work OK - or you could use hyperfocal charts to set the correct focus point.

    Interesting experiment and I am lookiong forward to see what kind of results you get with a more interesting scene.

    I've seen some good results on other forums albeit with a horrible red cast.
    OK when altered to mono though.

    Have glued glass to step up ring 77-82mm .......... if you use cokin filter holder, you get light ingress from the sides .......... problem is, I live near the furthest place from the sea in UK, so the classic beach shot is a day out ......... right, lets go view hunting ...
