Lee ND Grads

Looking to buy my first couple of ND grads which should i start off with i.e which should i buy first 0.6 0.3?

I have .3,.6.9 and mainly use 0.6 and 0.9. 2 and 3 stops you sometimes need the 0.3 but not very often.Lee's are the one's
of choice but can be expensive .Good luck with your choice they do transform the picture.

Before you take the plunge - have you checked out Hitech filters as well - they work just as well as Lee for me but are less expensive. I agree with Baz about the choice - 0.6 or 0.9 and the soft graduation rather than the hard as they tend to be easier to align.

Hitech (www.formatt.co.uk) do a ND grad set where you can choose the 3 strength's that you require (any three from .3 .6 .9 & 1.2) - about £97 for Lee sizes (100x150)

Hitech filters fit the Lee adapters - that's the one I got. Good luck with your purchase.

Ive ordered mine too, lee holder going to be about a week, filters set (soft grad) in stock and hopefully big stopper wont be long either

Dropped by Dale Photographic on Monday picked up a 0.9 sold out of .3 and .6...get them orders in.

You guys are lucky, I tried about 6 months ago and was told I would need to wait about 2 months. Needed some grads quickly so went for the Hitech ones which are excellent so have forgotten all about the Lee's, though will need to look into then again to see if Santa will be bring me a set.

Iam in no real rush as ive never used filters iam sure i can wait a while longer, looking through the landscape photographer of the year Lee sure do get some good publicity...BTW i can get into the store (Dale Photograhic Leeds) fairly regularly if you are desperate for anything in particular let me know, if its in store when iam in next i could lay my hands on it. Iam after .3 and .6 the big stopper will have to wait. Have to say the system works a treat even i can probably use it without too much faff. I asked about a polarizing filter £200 for Lee scew in........i'll continue with my hand me down Cokin
