    Pixma Pro 9500Mk2

One ink level warning now coming up, as it's a new printer, does anyone know just how much life you can get out of the cartridge or is it a change straight away?

    Cheers

Martyn, it's like all things in life, it depends on how you use it. I would say get new cartridges ready to change and keep using the ones already in the printer until it/they run out.

I've not got your printer, but with any new printer I get I let the ink carts run out before I change and always have a new set ready.

Thanks Owin, I used to have an Epson which warned you far to early IMHO, but I suppose, as you say, it depends on how you use it.

I had ordered the cartridge before the warning cropped up as I was printing a few B&W images.

    Cheers

Martyn, I think you will find that it will tell you when it has completely run out, at least my Pro 9000 does. It is just letting you know in advance, so keep using it until then.

If I buy a complete set of eight inks ( I know this is not the same inks as yours ) to make a small saving on the individual prices, which are, of course extortionate, then I always end up with more black, red and green cartridges. I wish they would sell the other five as a discounted set as well.

Cheers David, once I have replaced a few cartridges I'll get the feel for just how much ink/ how many prints, I have to go. With prices as they are you just don't want to replace the cartridges too early as there could be quite a bit of ink going to waste.
