Ron, sorry to see it didn't work for you.
Checked the net and saw that this one from B&H worked with the 5DII.

Hi All, I started a query in General Discussion way back on 28 February but it was unfruitful.
So I took the plunge and ordered one from Amazon for my 5DMkII. To cut the story short – it did not work with my equipment. I wanted to use Live View at a distance, but all I could do was view the scene through the basic Hahnel lens. I suppose what I wanted was 'Remote Camera' wirelessly.
Amazon have a good return service if you follow the procedure on line, and I got most of my money back. However, if you find yourself in the same situation I would advise very careful unpacking of the gear (not damaging any packaging or shrink wrap) even to the extent of using your own batteries and not removing the shrink wrap of those provided. This will improve your chances of getting full re-imbursement.
Hope this helps if you are thinking of similar equipment.

Thanks Alex and Lez. I shall work on it.
Wouldn't it be great if an app for iPhone or iPad or similar could be made to work with EOS Utility wirelessly.
In the meantime a straightforward USB cable might be the answer.
Regards to both

Back again with some ideas about remote viewing. I have installed OnOne's DSLR camera Remote Server (free) on my iMac, and their DSLR Camera Remote App on my iPhone. A USB link from camera to iMac and "voila" I have live view on my iPhone! Admittedly you have to have a PC or Laptop around with your camera with a USB cable and a WiFi network handy, but it is a step in the right direction - until EOS Utility is available for iPhone or iPad.
It is not an ideal set-up but I think it is worth playing around with. It is relatively easier to hold an iPhone or iPad in your hand than look at a PC screen. A camera can be set up in a location away from the photographer who watches the scene on his iPhone, then fires the camera from a distance. Check out the following link:

I'd be glad for any feed-back
