    Cokin

I have been trying to source a Cokin P series holder, 58mm adaptor ring and a hard set of ND Grads but to no avail. First order was placed with warehouse Express only to be told there is a backorder of around 6 weeks. Order cancelled!

Then I turned to my local camera shop, non in stock and still awaiting orders placed in early March '11. It was at this point I was informed that Cokin are undecided as to whether they are continuing business and all stock deliveries are on hold.

So, my question is, where can I get the equipment I need, or are there equal quality alternatives that someone can recommend. Furthermore, can anyone update on Cokin's situation?

    Thanks.

    Re: Cokin

These filter are the Hitech make. Quality is better than the Cokin IMO and you can usually stack two filters without getting magenta colour cast that you would get with the Cokin, that is if you don't use the 0.9 grad.
Did you get he 1.2 grad with the set? if you did then this one will save you stacking filters in most bright situations.

I got the Hitech 110ND from Team Works for £36, but the couple of times I've used it so far the results have been disappointing. Will have to take a different approach to next time cause I'm likely doing something wrong.

    Re: Cokin

I believe I got the set of 4. However, now realising that I may need a slot in CP as opposed to the screw on type I already have, my question is, where can I get one of these. I did not see one on the site you suggested.
Thanks for all your help Alex

    Re: Cokin

I got my Cokin P164 polariser on eBay for about £35 if I remember correctly. You get really good results when it's used in the right situations, though wouldn't advise using it to polarise your sky at say 10mm as only part of it would be affected.

Just checked eBay and the cheapest I can see at the moment is £65! that's some hike in price since I got mine a few years ago.

Reverse grads are also worth thinking about, useful for sunset/rise when the sun is near the horizon as the darker part of the grad is in the middle of the filter as oppose to the top.
teamworkphoto supply them on eBay for £35

    Re: Cokin

I received my B&W 110 ND filter today (screw in) looking forward to testing this out over the bank holiday. If I get any respectable results I will post them.
I will most likely go for the CP below, seems to be the cheapest
