Help Jet Tec error

As I am keeping my Epson R800 for mundane printing tasks I have just installed a Jet Tec cartridge. Unfortunately I now get an error message that reads ' Installed ink Cartridges cannot be recognized'.

I have turned everything of for some minutes and turned on again but with the same error. I have removed and re-installed the cartridge (which does seem a little loose) but to no avail. I have installed the old cartridge and things go back to telling me which cartridge needs replacing, not the general error message above.

Anyone any experience of this?

I only wanted to save a few pounds on non critical print jobs.

Has the cartridge got a chip on it ??
Could try swapping chips over...... Just a thought..

Looks like it has, seems a lot of trouble. Ink all over the place no, probably just cut my losses and get Epson.

Totally Pi??>d off now spent ages on this and got no where.
