    Macro Tripod Head

I currently have a 3 way head, which I am finding awkward to use for macro shots. I am considering a Manfrotto 327RC2 Joystick Head or
Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head. Has anyone experience with either? If so which way to go?
    Thanks in advance.

William, I have the geared head it's main use for me is landscape altough I do use it for macro. Whilst it gives very precise control of the three directional movement you may find it has the same problems as your current three way head. But...have you considered somthing like this LINK or this LINK for your macro work.

I would advise against the Manfrotto joystick head. I used to own one of these but found it difficult to adjust precisely, which is what you want to do. I know a lot of people like this head but I don't think it is the answer to your problem. Better to go for something with precise control, i.e. geared.

Thanks David and Peter. I will research the sliding rails, the fact that they are much cheaper than the alternatives is a bonus
