Does anyone here use compatible batteries in thier 7D and if so, how do you find them?

Not me, but stick to good compatible ones like Hahnel or Energiser, and you should find them as good as branded.

I have used Hahnel batteries with no issues on various bodies including the 7D.

I've got a couple of hannels in a BG-E7 grip which last all day using live view. Never had a problem with them.

7dayshop ones are good, chipped just like the real thing, recently got two for £21. Checking today it looks like they are waiting new stock so very popular

Thats a big saving on the Canon batteries.
At this price I'll perhaps get a couple myself.
    Thanks for the heads-up

    Re: 7D batteries

I got some off ebay that came included with the grips for my 7D and 5D2. They are unbranded but work just as well as the original Canon ones, they all report properly in both cameras and charge quickly and last at least as well as Canon ones too. I got 4 with my 7D grip (cost £39.95) and 3 with my 5D2 grip (cost £54.95) and I saved so much getting them I managed to get a 70-200 f4 L for the same price as the genuine Canon equivalent.
