    multimedia storage!!

    Hi,
Been looking at multimedia storage. Found out the epson p6000/p7000 are discontinued, so maybe a netbook would be better? Also being small enough to carry in a camera bag.

I like the idea of uploading and viewing when out for the day, saves on have a number of memory cards too.

So what do other poeple use?

    danny.

    Danny,

Apart from my laptop, I use a Canon M80 for storage and I also have a couple Lacie 30Gb Little Disk pocket drives that I use. The M80 allows you to view RAW images and uses BP-511/BP-511A batteries - search around for best price.

    Good idea,

There are a couple on ebay at present (M80's). One at auction for £179 and a buy it now version for £309.

    Re: multimedia storage!!

I currently use a Toshiba NB205 with a Belkin CF reader. However, I only use it when I am either away from home for a few days or at a multi-card event such as an airshow. Even then, I tend not to erase the cards until I have uploaded them to my main computer at home. I never use the Toshiba for editing - only for a quick review of the images.

The canon m80 looks good but at £600 a bit pricey and not easy to find, i will keep looking.

I used the original P2000 for many years and I've retired it because it's just too slow now but it was a reliable bit o' kit and ideal for camping. I'm not surprised that the P7000 has been discontinued with the onslaught of tablets and ultra-light laptops that's out there. Personally I'd wait till Windows 8 comes out as you will start to see a whole new generation of Tablets coming out such as the Lenovo Yoga Flip that was demoed this week.

    Danny,

    There's also the M80's little sister - the M30 (30 Gb).
