I'll start you off ..............
Bought a canon photographer's jacket which seemed like a good idea with all the pockets/straps etc .............. can't bring myself to actually wear it.

What photographic gadgets/accessories have you bought on the spur of the moment that you maybe used once and are now stuck in the bottom of your bag?
Let us know .........so we can all have a laugh or be slightly embarrassed as we did the same thing![]()

Hi Mark,
Great idea for a thread - I don't think I have any embarassing photographic equipment (unless you include the person holding it!) my kit bag is quite minimal unfortunately

"er" = a 90mm t/s and used it once in march this year after 2 years of nothing and no immediate intentions of playing with its potential.
the image i did is razor sharp at 44 inch wide print from my 1ds. mk2. so its a fantastic lens.
ye see, none of us are perfect!

Hey George if we're taking lenses, it's gotta be my ef 50mm 1.4
if it's boys toys, then it's the xbox 360, only played on it because the wife bought me it, and I didn't want to appear ungrateful. What a waste of time.

Latest gadget: a sun compass...bought it a while ago, but I've not had the opportunity to go out and photograph anything around sunrise or sunset time since I got it. I will get around to it though, so I wouldn't label this as a useless gadget.
Something which I did use once or twice and then thought "??????!" was a set of Cokin creative filters. Thankfully I didn't buy them - my Dad passed them to me when I got my 350D. To add insult to injury, the holder's too narrow to even be able to use it with my 24-105, otherwise I'd get some less-outrageous ND grads to use for landscape work.

A Lowepro "Street and Field Vest and belt".
What a wonderful idea to wear your equipment, rather than carry it. I bought all the appropriate slip lock lens and accessory pouches and got about three months use out of it.
Then the terrorists started using a similar item to hide their explosives and I seemed to be prime suspect number one every time I went through an airport. A rather sturn officer pointing an MP5 in my direction, with finger covering the trigger made me consider other alternatives. Thankfully, I don't look anything like a Brazilian electrician, but it was a tad worrying at the time!
For now, until the world is a happier and less dangerous place, it is stuck at the back of a wardrobe.

A jack pyke camouflage jacket so the birds cant see me, slightly pointless when you consider the big gray lens and shutter noise,![]()

Wireless Sync Flash trigger ...........
Bought a cheapo one from Hong Kong .......... before I actually understood a bit about flash (obviously learnt on CFF) .......... It sets the flash off OK ......... but that's it .......... whatever you adjust the flash/camera to, it's always full power ... you get what you pay for I suppose ........... Bottom of bag !!!

A padded winter cover for my camera and lens with hand access and a view pane to see the rear screen and viewfinder. If my demise is a consequence of extreme cold it'll be a comfort knowing that there will be enough battery life remaining in my quilted camera to record my last moments.![]()
