    Cokin Filters

I am back again with another what may seem a straight forward thing to others, I have just recently got hold of a cokin filter set and adapter/holder, messing about the last week and tried the neutral density filters to slow shutter speed down etc, I have noticed that there are 4 slots in the holder, the one nearest to the lens is a thin slot, now I was putting the filters in the other 3 slots but have just looked and realised that by doing this and leaving the 1st slot empty(thinner one nearest to the lens) that it is possible for light to enter via the edges, so will this reduce the efficiency of the filter/s been used and should I have actually used the first thin slot as this seems to not allow any daylight to show through the edges, although it is a tight fit the nd filters will fit in this one.

Hope this makes sense and does not look like a madman rambling,

It is designed to be used with the " Daisy wheel" Polariser, as for light seepage I filled all the slots and gaps and cut off the front slot to prevent vignetting (and to stop the urge to over grad!!) on my own holders in an attempt to cut down on possible light seepage

I thought that when I first got them - not clear at all! Maybe it is to allow experimentation rather than conformity to a set of rules...

Great link Peter, might want to put that in the tutorials section for future reference of others?
