Black Rapid R-Strap

Hi All,

I received on of these for my birthday and it is bloody brilliant. So much more comfortable than your standard strap and it is loads easier to grab the camera and get it to your eye quickly.

The fastener attaches in your tripod mounting point (and is very very secure thanks to a rubber washer) so the camera hangs upside down. When you reach down with it on your right when you reach down and grab it you already have your finger by the shutter ready to go.

Once the camera is at your eye the strap is all below the camera rather than in the normal mounting points and getting in the way.

Not cheap by any means but comfortable and quick to use. Can't wait to see how it fares at an air show and some extended usage.

Hi James,I also got one of these,& found you can screw in your manfrotto quick release plate instead of the Black Rapid one,handy if you are using a tripod as you do not have to remove the B R one before you can use your tripod.

that's a good point, the quick release plate has a similar metal loop at the base to screw it in with.

That said, I rarely use my tripod - hmmm :) Will give both a try. I feel the rubber washer might make the fitting more secure with the BR fitting.
