    Re: Tripod Help

Frank ............. have a good search through Ebay ....... there are loads on there ......... just make sure they can support at least 5KG ........ keep the head from your old one and just buy the tripod .... Manfrotto ....... Slik ........Velbon........ etc ......... all good makes.
I don't think you could get a carbon fibre tripod in your price range ........ but there are some good Aluminium light "heavy" gauge ones out there ............ happy hunting

Frank I replaced mine this week with a Giottos MTL9351, Ive got a ball head on it and it takes the 40D battery grip 300f4 + 1.4TC with no problems at all £72.00 from Warehouse Express.

    Re: Tripod Help

I won a Giottos tripod in Digital Photo mag but it was more of a studio model - well built but weghed a ton so I sold it and bought a Giottos CF model.
I'm sure you'll be delighted with your new purchase, Frank
