Just ordered a legitimate copy of Photoshop CS4 Extended (Student Edition).
I already have Martin Evenings CS2 book, question is is the new Photoshop so similar to the old one that a new guide book won't add anything or (and this is why I'm posting) can anyone recommend a CS4 guide.
Cheers

Dave is there a hugh/vast amount of difference between CS3 & CS4, not the 'student' versions?

There is no difference between "student" versions and the "normal" versions except the price you pay :)

There isnt a lot of difference between cs3 and cs4 but it has two great features, firstly the adjustment brush is brilliant and the grad filter is great on skies and takes seconds, the adjustment brush alone makes the upgrade worth it for me,i did a thing about it on the blog a while ago

Calum,
You are quite right the Student edition is the full version of CS4 but it is a fraction of the full version (which I was hard pressed to justify), however I had to register it in my daughters name as she is in full time education and does use the very basic functions of the program to create wacky images to share with her mates on line. Not what I would consider useful but hey it does get her taking photographs and manipulating images.

Cheers DC, I did see the Blog article, however I just need to justify the Upgrade cost! Shares are not doing too well :)

Lightroom has the brush function if you don't want to go for CS4.
