I'm halfway through this 3rd part of the series by Scott Kelby and so far have found it extrememly useful, being a DSLR novice.

Everything is explained in clear, plain english terms, and it covers [in it's 10 chapters] everything from How to use a Flash like a Pro correctly to How to take great outdoor shots like a Pro.

It even includes links to [free] video tutorials which again, I've found very helpful

For the DSLR novice, imho, this book is a "must read"
