Hello from Somerset...

Hello CFF.

I stumbled upon this excellent forum whilst researching my latest purchase (see below). Well done on a great site...very informative, and you seem like a really friendly bunch.

So, me. I'm 36, and a semi-pro snapper from the South West. The rest of my time is spent putting fires out.

Photography wise, I contract to corporates, covering conferences and the like, and cover music events - mainly indoor concerts. I also do some schools work, as well as the odd wedding here and there (I like doing weddings, but I found the lack of portfolio hindered me...vicious circle really).

Kit...

Main camera...EOS 1DMKIIn
Backup...EOS 10D (This desperatly needs replacing with a 5DMKii, espeicially now the weddings are ramping up. The 10d is mint and boxed...keep an eye in the classifieds soon!)

Lenses...too many to list, but favs are to 100-400 f4-5.6isL, the 17-40f4L and, beleive it or not, the 50mm f1.8 (so sharp).

Lighting, well, apart from the 550EX, I have three Elinchrom Style RX 600 heads, and a garage full of kit to go with them. I favour colorama type paper rolls for backgrounds.

I've been taking pictures as long as I can remember. Started when I got a 110 instamatic camera for a birthday pressent when I was about 7. Progressed to a Zenit SLR which taught me everything about manual photography, then onto a Ricoh KR10. First Canon was an EOS650, which I eventually sold to get a EOS 50e. This camera was the one that started earning me money (and I still have it in the cupboard somewehere). About the same time, I veered into Medium Format, and my bronica outfit stayed with me for a considerable amount of time. It's gone now though.
