    Re: Forest Stream

Interesting the way it flows through the roots and the slow shutter worked well to get the milky effect but the viewpoint doesn't make the most of the scene.

Was there a chance to get down lower and closer to the waterflows?

Interesting idea Stuart. I think Andy has a point though, I think there were other view points to have been had.

    Cheers,

Yeah sure.... check out Andy Kearton's 'water' set on flickr. I love the creative way that he visualises different shutter speeds and their effects in different circumstances water.

I think a simple shot like this needs better lighting to work well. The greens look a little cyan to my eyes. Rob

    Stuart

    With respect .......... it's dull.

If you shoot in dull light, you get dull pictures. Go back another day, or use a flashgun off camera and there is probably a good shot there.

    Regards

    lol Colin
As stated going to try again hopefully this weekend at more reasonable time - only have on body camera at moment, but I think natural light is way forward, it literally is surounded ny forrest in first place, that combined with being sunset didnt help, still think its a good find and am glad I took it.
    Cheers again

    Hi Stu,

Not sure on these - I can see why you have been attracted to the scene with the water running through the roots but I wonder if there is a better composition further to the left or possibly from the other bank (maybe even the middle of the stream!).

Or maybe from here, but zoomed in to pick out some detail...

As others have said, the lighting conditions here aren't helping - when I did these crops I also tweaked the contrast a bit, but it's not substitute for good lighting at the time of capture
