    the buachaillie

On our way back from Skye, we were in a hurry and having promised not to stop, I tried ever so hard to keep my eyes on the road in Glencoe. After a quick peak I soon had to pull over and gave myself a 'leg stretch' at this well known spot! The different views I've had of this spot over the last couple of weeks are quite staggering, but this is my personal favourite.

Any c+c is always welcome. thanks for taking a look!

    cheers, Paddy

stunning! you will get some very good replies on this shot.

a minor niggle easy sorted = just above the top of the mountain and 1/2 towards the left end, are some quite small harsh over exposed whites in the clouds.

but excellent colour tones, everything razor sharp in focus, etc. well taken.

The clouds look as if they're exploding from Stob Dearg. This is an excellent shot with bags of impact. You've exposed the snow well and with a slight taming of a few areas, as George suggested, you will have a superb shot. I bet you're glad you stretched your legs :O)

Thanks chaps - I've used a little clone stamp to fill in the blown cloud areas, which has softened it nicely.

    Thanks for commenting.

I dont know what you did differently in second, however I like it very much, wish I was there, well not right now cos it would be pretty poor light, but maybe for sunrise?

The edit is worthy of a revisit - the texture in the foreground is wonderful certainly a different perspective of what we get to see normally.

Great shot Paddy, Well handled composition and exposure, We were tempted to stretch our legs at Lochan n'ahclaise, stunning light on the Black Mount but the place was crawling with other togs, so reluctantly we did stop, Damn.

Both are cracking shots - very crisp and clear and all fits together nicely. I can see my journey to Skye this year is going to take a little longer than normal with all the posts on this site showing me where to stop along the way!

Excellent Paddy, great exposure - loads of interest in the shot. Will be up there in 10 day's time. Almost following in your footsteps (Glen Coe, Loch Ewe, then Skye at Trotternish)

    Can't wait

    Re: the buachaillie

This really is a cracker of a shot.

The only thing that niggles slightly for me is that the tree merges a bit with the mountain - I wonder what it would have looked like taken from a viewpoint slightly tothe right, so that there was more sky behind the tree? Just a minor point though...this is a shot I'd be proud to have taken.

Whilst I agree with most that has been said already, what I find best in this picture is the texture and colour of the snow in the foreground. Excellent work!

A stunning picture Paddy, it looks totally different to the morning we were waiting for the mist to clear. If you think i'm going to post any of my pictures of "The Shephard" following this shot you're mistaken.

Excellent shot Paddy, a well taken shot indeed.
Good light throughout this shot and the movement in the clouds makes this shot for me.
