    A Meander in the Mist

At Westonbirt Arboretum one foggy winter's day. Looks like they were heading to the cafeteria for a cup of hot tea to defrost!

    I like the sublety Keith.

Gentle tones, trees each side to hold the shot in, nice diagonal with the hill, a path leading the eye into the shot and the icing on the cake ......... two figures perfectly placed within the frame.

That was worth getting cold for.

Thanks Colin. One of those very fortunate H C-B moments!

A pleasant delicate touch to this. My eye tends to end up in the top left blank sky. There is probably another shot in the left and bottom quarter using that path to lead in If you have the tones to play with in the original. Rob

    Hi Rob,

I have the tones (.cr2 file) but am not sure quite what you mean. Please elucidate.

Hi Keith, I was thinking of something like this.

Thanks for the input Rob. I can see where you are going in terms of adding a little to the people and the path, but I think it is important to retain the three trees on the right as otherwise too much of the misty atmosphere is eliminated to the detriment of the mood.

I think the people make this as they add a sense of scale. Like the leading path...
    Nice one!

I really like this image and feel that the two figures balance the large trees on the right. The only change I would make, if possible, would be to clone out the bush to the right, as I feel it interupts an otherwise flowing image. :)

Like the image Keith, very old school.

I do agree with Rob L though. Seeing as you have a vignette on the bottom left and the image has quite a yesteryear feel maybe you could add a vignette to the top left to take the edge the bright white space and mirror the vignette at the bottom? Just an idea for you.

    Cheers,

Thanks everyone for the feedback/suggestions. I'll consider making a new version incorporating the ideas.

Like the lead with the path and the inclusion of the people balance the comp nicely.
