One from a shoot with Ivetan this morning.


Doing some testing with a MU.
Canon 5D Mk11 Canon 70-200 f2.8 zoom.
ISO 100 F8.0 at 125th WB Flash.
WDYT.

this is what i am thinking,

why am i looking at these images cos i dont do studio stuff? but i keep looking at them as if i think i know what it should be. and as a result i have often given comment as if i am an expert.

and i look at this image and think -

generally speaking, the lighting and the skin tones are spot on.

1. i want the background to have a soft colour because the hair is white.
2. i want to have some detail in the black clothes. but the large file probably has detail.
3. her eyes connect well but they are not convincing me.

and i am certainly not qualified to give comment so shoot me.

A nice image with good eye contact.
The only thing that bothers me is her hair,to me it is too messy,but i know that is just a personal feeling.
So all in all it is a great shot.

George will not shoot you yet, and thank for listing your thoughts, which are useful.
Jackie, do agree about the hair it had been up prior to this shot as it suited the MU better. Will be processing some with the hair up later this week.

Good lighting used here Richard and the model is well, beautiful as usual.
I can see what you were trying to capture here but a larger DOF just to catch the eyes, eye makeup and lipstick would have worked a treat here. For me just too much in focus for it to work how it should.

A great pic for me. My only comments ( but please , take them as my personal thinking) are :
a little bit too much unsharp mask on her eyes, mouth
and the skin looks kinda unnatural
