    EOS utility use

Playing with this software for the first time and find it might well be very useful but I have one question maybe you guys can answer.

I connect the camera to the laptop and select the remote live view shooting option at the bottom of the setting screen.

This, when active, opens up the shutter and gives the live image on a new window on the laptop screen.

    Question is:-

I understand with live view on the camera screen the sensor can get hot and cause problems during extended use......I am assuming this is the same when using the remote live view function on the PC?

If so how long is "sensible" to have it "live" before shutting off and letting things cool down

    Cheers

    Re: EOS utility use

Andy , I noticed on the 40D that prolonged use of live view caused a few hot pixels to appear in images but no more than say on a long exposure (1min +)
I believe as a default Canon shuts down the camera after 30 minutes of use of live view. I personally set the camera to " Auto Off/Standby" after a couple of minutes, a press of the shutter brings it back to life.
